They soon became the most trusorthy and reliable grocery suppliers in the area, suppliying to large and reputed estates and holdings. Seeing a need in the market they ventured into the Chitty business in 1939 and later into Banking in 1949. A devout and simple man, he upheld traditional values of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, understanding and forbearance, values he imparted to his children, peers and thereby the organization that mushroomed under his watchful eye into the present day Muthoot Pappachan Group with its 850 branches, 4000 employees and 1.1 million loyal customers.
The ethics he espoused have been a guiding light to the path of his successors and has permeated into every strata of the Muthoot Pappachan Group. The same values still govern every decision at MPG.
